Our Men's Comprehensive Panel contains the following panels (click the links below to view full list of tests per panel):
Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. Inadequate amounts of cortisol can cause nonspecific symptoms such as weight loss, muscle weakness, fatigue, low blood pressure, and abdominal pain. Women may have irregular menstrual periods and increased facial hair as well.
Back to TopDHEA serves as an important precursor to male and female sex hormones (androgens and estrogens) - low levels are associated with a number of conditions including type 2 diabetes and adrenal insufficiency.
Back to TopEstradiol is a natural hormone that is secreted chiefly by the ovaries. It is the most powerful female hormone that occurs naturally; synthesized and used to treat estrogen deficiency and breast cancer.
Back to TopProgesterone is a hormone naturally secreted by the ovary during the menstrual cycle. The Progesterone Test is used to measure ovarian function and can determine if a woman has ovulated and when the ovulation occurred. A significant deviation from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.
Back to TopThis test is used to evaluate hirsutism and masculinization in women and to evaluate function in clinical states where the testosterone binding proteins may be altered (obesity, cirrhosis, thyroid disorders).
Includes the following tests:
Testosterone, Serum - measures the Total Testosterone level.
Free Testosterone - testosterone not bound to proteins in your body which is "circulating free" in the blood.
Back to TopThe Thyroxine-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) test is used to monitor thyroid function and diagnose thyroid disorders, such as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. A significant deviation from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.
